VAT Check is a Google Sheets™ add-on that validates EU VAT numbers against the official VIES register of the European Commission.
By using VAT Check you agree to these terms. The add-on is provided on a free tier of 25 new checks per month; cached lookups do not count toward this limit.
VAT Check reports the answer returned by the European Commission's VIES service. VIES is maintained by the EU member states and can be temporarily unavailable, out of date, or wrong. The results are provided "as is" and are not a substitute for professional tax or legal advice. Always verify a result before relying on it for a tax return, VAT-exemption claim, or any financial decision.
The add-on is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the add-on or the accuracy of VIES data.
You are responsible for the VAT numbers you enter and for any decisions you make based on the results. You are responsible for ensuring the add-on is used lawfully in your jurisdiction.
These terms may change from time to time. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
